Our carers come from a wide range of backgrounds. They are couples and single people, straight and gay and come from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds. Some carers are homeowners, some live in rented accommodation. Some of our carers have children already, either birth children or previously adopted children and some don’t have any children in their family. What they all have in common is the belief that a child’s early life is of critical importance and that they can put a child’s needs before their own. They have the emotional resilience and support from their partners and /or wider support networks to care for a child during a period whereby longer term plans are being made about their future.
